THE EDINBURGH DIVERSITY CUP 2008
WANTED!
Twenty ‘5-a-Side’ football teams wanted for the 2008 Edinburgh Diversity Cup which takes place on Saturday 14th June at the World of Football. The spirit of this unique event is to bring 20 teams together as one to demonstrate the diversity of our city and have a great afternoon of football.
Last years winners, Lothian and Borders Police Diversity Unit Team, are showing confidence in defending the title but already a number of other teams have their eyes on the prestigious trophy.
New developments this year include trophies for Player of the Tournament, Fair Play Team and Top Scorer. There will also be a ‘Beat the Keeper’ event.
Thirteen teams lined up in 2007 and the rich mixture of teams included a Women’s Team from Dalkeith, a mixed men and women team from St Mary’s Cathedral, as well as an African team, and Muslim, Sikh, and Christian teams, an International Students team and more.
20 teams wanted for 2008!
We would like a high quality disabled team and an over 50’s team to reach the final to show up all the youngsters and give them a run for their money!
